Beauty Marked

From On July 31, 2010

This is nothing new. We’ve been seeing it for a while now. Animal prints are still making appearances in a variety of places. Cheetah prints, snakeskin, zebra prints and mainly leopard can be found on anything. Animal prints can be tricky. Too much of it and it looks like you’re overdoing it. Try wearing it to accent an outfit. For example, the leopard print dress would look great with black pumps and simple jewelry. An example of what not to do: DON’T wear it with leopard print accessories or shoes! You want the dress to be the stand-out piece. You don’t want people to have a hard time deciding on what to look at first when they see you. Now the Jeffrey Campell booties are crazy! They would look good with skinny jeans (cropped or full length!) and a basic t-shirt. Jean shorts would be nice too.

I saw these Giuseppe Zanotti boots (Aloharag.com) and thought they would look amazing with all black. Black leggings or jeans, tunic and black leather jacket. A camel colored scarf or bag would tie everything in together. Love these!

Bag Envy: The Rocco Duffle

From On July 28, 2010

Lately I’ve been trying to track down the Alexander Wang Quilted Rocco Mini Duffle. Shopbop had it BEFORE it went on sale. It sold out almost immediately. Bummer. So I took the next step and did a search online to see if I could find it on sale any where else. No luck. Every where I found it it was still full price. So to my surprise, Gilt.com had a sale on Alexander Wang accessories the other day. Yay! But I didn’t realize the sale was even going on until it was too late. The sales normally begin at 12pm. I didn’t notice until about 9pm that night. The last time Gilt had a sale on Alexander Wang accessories things were sold out in less than 5 minutes. It was madness. Even then I missed out although I was clearly aware of the sale and was even shopping the site. The next time I’d be ready, but I wasn’t. Yes the bag had been included in the sale (at more than half off the regular price!) and yes it was sold out! So I’m sad and my search continues for the Alexander Wang Quilted Rocco Mini Duffle.

Love this bag? It comes in a mini version and in many different colors too.

Summer Days & High Heels

From On July 21, 2010

So we’re almost through the month of July and it has been miserably hot. It’s been in the 90′s for days and I dont even want to talk about the humidity. Unless you plan on staying inside it is almost impossible to keep cool, no matter what you wear. As for me, I’ve been trying to stay in the comfort of the AC. Today I decided to take some photos since it’s been a while. I’m wearing a Free People skirt, Express bandeau, BCBG Max Azria belt and Aldo shoes. I had been eyeing this skirt for a while and finally decided to buy it. Its gauzy layers and olive, mustard yellow and red mini floral print set on top of solid black was perfect. Perfect for summer and right into fall. I immediately thought of the olive bandeau I had at home and thought they would go well together. Add the mustard yellow belt and black booties and wahlah!

Oh and hold that thought. I mentioned how the skirt would be perfect for summer and into fall, I took more photos of how I would wear the skirt in cooler temps. Stay tuned!

I LOVE this photo! Look at the sky!

These shoes look like they would be a pain to get on, but the back zipper makes it a lot more simple.

Shopbop Love

From On July 15, 2010

Anyone that knows me well enough is already aware of the fact that I love Shopbop.com. They have the best overall setup a website could possibly have and it just keeps getting better. They offer all kinds of clothing from casual to dressy, lingerie and shapewear, swimwear, shoes, handbags, jewelry and any other accessory you can think of.

As we move from summer into fall, obviously more and more will be going on sale. Well now is the time ladies! More and more fall merchandise is hitting stores now! I know mid-July seems a bit early, but fall is right around the corner. It’s definitely not as bad as the talk I’m hearing about stores breaking out Christmas decorations before the end of summer. That’s just ridiculous.

But as I was saying, Shopbop has stuff at up to 70% off right now. Here’s what I’m eyeing:

Alexander Wang Millie Satchel

Love this bag! It’s perfect since I like to carry my life around with me. Loving the silver hardware and multiple compartments.

Loeffler Randall Honey Bootie

These shoes are just exotic looking to me. How often do you see an acid yellow colored bootie with cutouts?

Adia Kibur Bib Necklace

Adia Kibur Bib Necklace

This bib necklace would look great with a simple tee or silk top. I could wear it casually or dress it up.

Another thing I’m loving about Shopbop, the fact that I can save everything I like in one place. The heart feature is pretty awesome.

I’m going to go shop the site now. Tonight is the last night to save an extra 20% off on all sale merchandise ;)

Cat Eyes & Boho Bags

From On July 13, 2010

Tory Burch Cat's Eyes Sunglasses $149 Nordstrom
MICHAEL Michael Kors Montrose Retro Cat's Eyes Sunglasses $85 Bloomies
The summer isn’t over just yet. There’s still time to grab some trendy accessories and still be able to get some good wear out of them. The cat-eye sunglasses and the boho bag have been big this season. This style of sunglasses has a retro vibe to it, while the bohemian-inspired bag is anything but. The first pair of sunglasses are by Tory Burch (Nordstrom.com) and the second are MICHAEL Michael Kors (Bloomingdales.com). Both styles are a little less subtle (anyone see the pair by Alexander Wang?? Wow). On the bottom we have the Ikat Boho Sak (Freepeople.com) and the Cleobella Ikat Boho Sak (Revolveclothing.com). These accessories can also make the transition into fall. Make sure to grab them!

Ikat Boho Sack $68 FreePeople
Cleobella Ikat Boho Sak $92 Revolve
