Preppy Pastel

by Cortnie Elizabeth on May 27, 2011

I can’t remember when I first saw these J brand skinnies (maybe online), but I do remember seeing them in Bloomingdale’s and knowing I had to try them on. They ran a size small and of course, the next size up wasn’t available. I thought about them for days and even pictured what I first wanted to wear them with. I loved the light rosey pink color, going back to my spring obsession with this particular shade. I knew I wanted to wear my orange and white striped Trina Turk cardigan with them. I had gotten it from a sample sale a while back. Although it was a size large I was still determined it’d be coming home with me. I washed and dried it in hopes of shrinking it. It worked even though it was still a little big. Right down my alley, though. But yeah, I thought the pink and the orange together would be fun.

The pants I ended up ordering online. They’re originally meant to be capris, but on my 5 foot frame come to be ankle length. Perfect. I gave myself the challenge of not wearing anything from J.Crew. I failed. I chose to wear this look with a pair of shoes from ALDO, so this belt from J.Crew worked perfectly. Whatever, they have great accessories! I completed the outfit with a basic white tank.

What’s with the hair you ask? My faux bob fro (say that five times fast). Just experimenting, I guess. Oh and sorry if the pics look a little washed out. We have overcast skies (and maybe the wrong setting on my camera) to thank.

ENJOY YOUR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!

The outfit is gorgeous!! I love the color combo :) Very springy.

I’ve been looking at the colored skinnies but I’m just afraid I can’t pull them off!!! I feel like they might make everything look bigger than it already is on my lower half. lol
