DCFW Networking Event

From On September 27, 2011

via SHY MAGAZINE

Last week my sister and I took a trip down to the Dirty Martini bar in DC for DC Fashion Week. I spotted many fashionable folks and even ran into a couple of friends. I thought the networking event was great. Meeting new people is always fun. I just wish I had gotten some shots of myself. I had to collect pictures from other sources to give you guys an idea of my look for the evening.

I wore this amaaazing long and crisp linen blazer I got from Ann Taylor. It was originally $250 and I got it for about $85. A great deal if you ask me. Everything else was BCBG with the exception of my Forever 21 necklace. Adorable right? I completely forgot that I had these leggings. They look like thigh-highs. They’re completely sheer mesh from the top to about mid-thigh and then a thin knit the rest of the way down. How could I abandon these? Accessorized with my Love,Cortnie ‘Ashleigh’ clutch and MAC’s bright-colored lipstick in Morange. Love this look.

THE LAST DAY TO ENTER MY LOVE,CORTNIE CLUTCH GIVEAWAY IS THIS COMING THURSDAY (9/29) AT 10PM EST! THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT MIDNIGHT!

Flashback: This Time Last Year

From On September 15, 2011

"A Blouse & Bubble Hem"

I haven’t done one of these in a while! This time last year I was doing the run-and-pose pretty often with my camera. Above, I’m in my backyard wearing one of my favorite tops from Anthropologie, sunglasses also from Anthropologie, BCBG Max Azria skirt and Martin & Osa belt (my, how I miss that store!). View the original post and more photos here!

Below, I’m on my deck in a Beckerman skirt from Shopbop, Madewell necklace, knit top from Martin & Osa, a lacey bralette and studded Loeffler Randall flats. I still love the two colors combined and the sexiness of the bra peeking over my shirt. View the original post and photos here!

Refinery29 To Launch in D.C.

From On September 2, 2011

via Refinery29.com

Being a member of DC FABB has its advantages. Thank goodness for Twitter because that’s where I found out about what would eventually take place today at Dupont Circle. Refinery29 will soon be opening a store in D.C. and had their photographer, Jim Darling, taking snapshots of some of D.C.’s street style. What’s even better is that the photos will be featured in a series on Refinery29.com in October. I almost didn’t go since I had quite a drive into the city and I also considered the fact that it was a Friday night at rush hour. But I sucked it up, got dressed and made the drive. I’m so glad that I did because Jim was awesome and extremely nice. I can’t wait to see how the photos turned out. Stay tuned!

P.S. THAT’S NOT ME IN THE PHOTO! lol.

A Clutch Or Two, For Me & You

From On August 24, 2011

For the past week I’ve been heavily contemplating making and selling clutches. I went to my grandmother’s the other day to use her sewing machine and to just have fun with some of the fabric she had laying around. This quilted clutch was just a test. I wanted to see how it would turn out. The ones I would make would be different colors, prints and textures. They would zip across the top, be lined and also have an inside pocket.

So what do you think? Would anyone be interested?
