Dearest Dottie

From On March 12, 2012

What’s up with the head wrap, you ask? Oh, it was just for fun. You can call it trying something different. It’s actually a neck scarf tied into a massive bow around my head. Ha!

But seriously, I’m in love with this sweater. It’s so heavy and extremely warm. I got it from J.Crew last year and even though it wasn’t my actually size, it was the only one in the store. I took it home anyway. I paired it with some laytex leggings, lace up booties and my Love,Cortnie ‘Dottie’ clutch. I honestly can’t believe that it’s still available! It’s the only one I have, so if you love it shop it here!

P.S. FREE SHIPPING IN MY ETSY SHOP WITH PROMO CODE FREESHIPLC1!

What I Wore:
J.Crew sweater, Members Only leggings, Express bandeau, Ann Taylor booties, Love,Cortnie ‘Dottie’ clutch, Chan Luu scarf as a head wrap

Plum Dressing

From On March 9, 2012

My first pair of colored suede shoes! I’ve been admiring colored suede for years, but have been too scared to actually purchase it. I could see the suede getting stained or dirty some how and by not purchasing suede-anything, I would avoid that. These shoes were adorable, looked comfortable and were on sale. A no-brainer and a good choice at that. I wore my Love,Cortnie ‘Royal Vintage’ supersized clutch with them to tie in the plum colors. Other than that, I kept it simple with a pale gray blazer (love this thing!) and cuffed skinny jeans.

What I Wore:
Anthropologie blazer, J.Crew tee (the best tees EVER), 7 For All Mankind jeans, Love,Cortnie ‘Royal Vintage’ clutch (shop it here!), Ann Taylor necklace, Nine West heels (available in multiple colors here)

New to My Etsy Shop & Other News

From On March 8, 2012

'Mello'

Say hello to two of the latest clutches to hit my Love,Cortnie shop! ‘Mello’, as in, mellow yellow is one of my faves. It’s pastel yellow hue is right on time for spring. ‘Artsy’ is well, artistic-like with its stripes, spots and scribbles. Plus, it’s listed for only $35!

In other news, I’m offering free shipping (to locations inside of the US) and I’m not quite sure how long it will be going for. Just enter promo code FREESHIPLC1 at checkout!

'Artsy'

Oh yea! The ‘Sass Me’ clutch got a makeover. I added a dusty blue stripe of suede. I’m liking it way better now!

'Sass Me'

Ok, ladies. The ‘Bow Tied’ clutch will no longer be available starting in April unless I run out of leather before then. Basically this clutch has a couple weeks left of being listed in my shop. Grab one or miss out!

A SpicyCandy Kind Of Brunch

From On March 1, 2012

I hope everyone made their Leap Day count! So many sales were going on too. It was hard to resist. Well this past Sunday I went to a blogger brunch hosted by Spicy Candy DC and One Medical. Mimosas, an omelet bar and yummy fruit could be seen throughout the room. More good times with my fellow DC bloggers. If you want to see more photos from the event check out Spicy Candy DC‘s recap.

I CANNOT get enough of this dress! It’s so versatile (remember it from here and here). It was ridiculously on sale at Anthropologie and I’m SO glad I took a chance and ordered it. This time I wore it with a leather bomber and my Love,Cortnie Fool’s Gold clutch. Thank you to Naseya of The Seventh District for taking these pics for me!

What I Wore:
Anthropologie dress, leather bomber from Nordstrom, Love,Cortnie ‘Fool’s Gold’ clutch, Elizabeth & James ring, Essie’s Mesmorized, MAC lipstick in Chatterbox

P.S. THANK YOU so much to those that congratulated me on my Washingtonian feature!

A *Washingtonian* Feature

From On February 27, 2012

So today my mom brought to my attention that the March issue of the Washingtonian had hit the stands. Back in January an editor of the magazine reached out to me and wanted to do a feature on my Love,Cortnie bags. So we set a date and I made my way to Georgetown with a couple of my bags and different looks for the photoshoot. Erik Uecke shot the photos and afterward I interviewed with Kim Forrest. Definitely a wonderful experience. Thank you thank you THANK YOU to everyone who has bought one of my bags, retweeted my tweets, shared my site or simply mentioned it to someone else. I truly appreciate all the love and definitely could not have done it without you! And a special shotout to my DC bloggers. The support from you ladies has been AMAZING!

Make sure to grab a copy or check out the Washingtonian online!
