NewYorkFashionWeek: Look #1

From On February 14, 2012

First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Yes, my birthday is on Valentine’s Day and I’m turning the big 2-8. Wow.

But here’s my first look from my trip to New York for Fashion Week. I went in with the plan that I would pick a standout piece and build my outfit around it. You can probably guess the standout piece in this look lol. I actually have 2 now that I think about it. I’m not really into furs, but when I came across this beauty at It’s Vintage Darling I couldn’t get it off of my mind. The color is gorgeous! I was proud of myself for leaving without it, but then ended up getting it days later. I knew it would be perfect for Fashion Week.

Now the Love,Cortnie clutch, on the other hand, I made specifically for Fashion Week. Metallic silver snake-embossed leather with silver spikes turned up my look. Love it! I didn’t plan on selling it, but if I get any requests for it I may give in. It’s pretty amazing and a bit time-consuming I might add.

Overall, I had a blast in New York. I couldn’t have gone with a better group of ladies. I’ve definitely got more photos to share so stay tuned!

What I Wore:
It’s Vintage Darling vintage fur, leather bomber from Nordstrom, Gap skinnies, Love,Cortnie clutch, Ann Taylor booties, Chan Luu scarf

Deep In The ‘Glades

From On February 10, 2012

HEADS UP! This is a lengthy post for I have quite a few things going on.

Ok, so I just returned from Florida (again) after being there for a week visiting my Sugar. He took me down to the Everglades were I was FINALLY able to see some alligators! I was so excited. In the second photo, I was standing maybe 10 feet away from one. You could probably tell by the side eye I was giving him. I had such a great time. We spent almost the entire day there. The scenery was gorgeous and extremely relaxing. Not to mention the weather was perfect. Coming from Maryland and having to be bundled up, this was a more than welcome change.

What I Wore:
Old Navy maxi dress, Love,Cortnie ‘Haute Pink’ clutch (find it here!)

Now that I have that covered, today I’m heading to New York to be in the middle of the chaos that is Fashion Week. I’ve been super stressed when it came to packing some fashionable, but warm outfits. I’ve also made brand new Love,Cortnie bags just for the occasion. So stay tuned for photos and if you want to know what I’m into just make sure your following me on Twitter at @stylelustpages!

Lastly, you may have heard about Google dropping Google Friend Connect which is disappointing. What’s even more disappointing is if you have a Blogger blog you have nothing to worry about. Those of us using WordPress lose out. So not fair. Don’t worry though, sign up for Bloglovin’ and follow my blog there! (STYLELUST PAGES ON BLOGLOVIN’)

How gorgeous is this sunset?

A Touch Of Velvet

From On February 2, 2012

I’ve had this BCBG Max Azria sweater dress for a while, but I don’t wear it often because I love it and want to keep the pilling to a minimum. I figured it was a good time to break out the dress so I took the pincurls out of my hair, threw on a leather jacket, some simple patterned tights and added the Love,Cortnie ‘Golden Velvet’ clutch. I love how black leather makes things a bit more dramatic.

On another note, I recently found out that the fabric for this bag is no longer available, so what I have left is it! Shop it here for there’s only 2 left!

What I Wore:
BCBG Max Azria dress, leather jacket from Nordstrom, Express tights, Love,Cortnie ‘Golden Velvet’ clutch, Vince Camuto booties

P.S. I’m still on vaca in FL, but stay tuned for pics in next weeks posts 🙂

New To My Love,Cortnie Etsy Shop!

From On January 29, 2012

Ok, ladies. It’s been a bag-listing weekend (week, really). The leather bag I’ve been obsessed with and the one that I wore to the Blogger Meetup last week is finally, after heavy deliberation with myself, available for sale. That thing is amazing and the lining makes it even more amazing. Shop ‘Dottie’ here and be the only one to own it!

I’ve also listed another leather bag, ‘Simply Sage’ which is the last bag pictured. It’s such a cool shade of green and I added navy detailing and a striped lining. Also a great bag for year-around wear.

Now the others I had to add to shop. Neon has been everywhere and we’ll continue to see it through summer. Shop ‘Sour Apple’, ‘Haute Pink’ and ‘Caution’ over at my Etsy shop! I hope to add a neon yellow one of some sort some time soon too.

Red Hot & Flowery

From On January 27, 2012

I really like the combination of red and pink together. I don’t know if it’s me getting in the spirit for Valentine’s Day, which also happens to be my birthday, but I like it. These skinnies almost didn’t make it to my closet. I remember when colored denim first hit the scene. I refused to jump on the bandwagon for a long time. Once they went on sale at Anthropologie, however, I felt there was no better time to give in. The sheer pink blouse and bandeau made for a fun twist. I’m also rocking one of the first super-oversized clutches to hit my Etsy shop. The ‘Rosey Garden’ clutch won’t be available for much longer due to limited quantities, so shop it here!

What I Wore:
Express top and bandeau, AG skinnies, ALDO heels, mom’s vintage necklace, Love,Cortnie ‘Rosey Garden’ clutch
