BCBG Max Azria top, H&M skirt, Express tights, Prada platforms
I’ve been dying to wear my Prada platforms and the other day I FINALLY wore them! They have to be one of the best birthday gifts I’ve given to myself. It’s not everyday that I wear heels to work, so as a result I had to take advantage of the moment. Afterall, I am on my feet for 8+ hours a day, I’d never make it. I wasn’t sure about the top I was wearing until I belted it with a thin studded belt. It pulled the shirt up just enough so it wouldn’t look like I was swimming in it. As you have probably noticed, I love oversized tops, so I guess either way it would have worked out. The H&M skirt was such a good deal that I ended up buying two in different colors. Skirts are staples in my wardrobe all year around. Especially minis these days. I enjoy bearing my legs. I had really felt like wearing all black but wanted a stand-out shoe. I don’t really invest in bright colored shoes, so I ended up going with the putty-colored Prada’s. I had been talking about them long enough. There was no better time to unveil them.
And a special thanks to Macee for taking the pictures for me 😉
This past Sunday I went to the Style List Fashion Soiree/Mannequin Fashion Show at LUX Lounge in Baltimore. It was my first time going, but I must say that it was nice. White couches, tables, great lighting and the dj was great. There was even food available which is always a good thing. Especially if you didn’t get a chance to eat before you left (like myself) or if you plan on being out until early morning (like myself, again). The fashion show, hosted by Teronce Styyles, didn’t start until after 10pm, but when it did it was intriguing.
Collections from Will C Style, 7 Deadly Sins, Quest Collection, Kas Collection Inc., Emore’J Couture, Renee France Designs and Madison Walker were shown. There was a lot of military & uniform-inspired looks. I saw everything from swimwear to couture. I didn’t take too many pictures, but I did manage to get some of the Emore’J Couture collection.

What I wore:
Leather bomber from Nordstrom, J.Crew V-neck top, Gorjana necklace, Forever 21 skirt and floral tights, Jessica Simpson pumps, Rebecca Minkoff studded hobo bag
Ok everyone, meet Bentley! The newest addition to our family. He is a 10 week old Yorkie that is so much like a small child. He gets into EVERYTHING and is very adorable. He’s just learned or I guess I should say has grown enough to go up and down the steps. So now we are really in trouble. His short attention span is pretty entertaining. I sit and watch him often. He thinks he’s a big dog and tries to keep up with the others we have even though they are about three times his size. You’ll meet them later For now, here’s more pics of Bentley.
I can’t believe it’s the last day in February 2010 and thus the last post of the month. Time is flying! I’ve got a lot coming up for March: many more spring trends, photos of me in various places and anything else that sparks my interest. More puppies, perhaps? I guess you will just have to check back and find out for yourselves!
Anyone who knows Antik Batik knows they make some ridiculously beautiful sandals. Last year I purchased their Langoa sandals and they are one of my favorites that I own. I came across this year’s version, the Bongo sandal, and was ecstatic! I automatically knew I’d own them before the warmer seasons rolled around.
The detailing on these leather sandals makes you wonder how much time was spent sewing the gold-toned sequins and beads on by hand. Definitely a great way to update your basic gladiator sandal. The two ankle straps and closed heel make them that much more charming. I guess all this snow surrounding me is causing me to be very excited about spring. I’m loving them and plan on purchasing them for sure!

With Valentine’s Day being less than a week away, I’ve pulled some items, all in the color pink, to help vamp up your V-day attire. While I hope no one will be wearing pink from head-to-toe, try using one of these items as a pop of color to an existing outfit.
*Dress by Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent (Bloomingdales.com)
There are sooo many ways this can be worn. Try it with a black blazer and black tights, a cropped cardi or belted with a boyfriend cardi, a feminine leather bomber and pumps, or just as it is with great sandals.
*Mulberry Alexa Clutch (Shopbop.com)
Definitely wear this with solid colors, no prints! You don’t want to over-do it. You want the clutch to be your stand-out piece.
*Elizabeth & James Mason Pump (Shopbop.com)
These are too cute to be covered up! Pair them with skinny jeans, a skirt or a dress. I would love them with a pair of skinny jeans, a flowy silk printed top and a neutral (cream or maybe white) blazer. Ugh, perfection!
*Tory Burch Reva Croc Ballet Flats (Shopbop.com)
Flats are easy to dress down but still be stylish in. Wear them with a flare-style jean.
*Essie in Bachelorette Bash (Beauty.com)
I’ve just gotten into Essie nail colors. I wore one of the new spring colors, Van D’Go, to Miami when I went. Loved it. I’ve been looking for Mint Candy Apple. Can’t find it anywhere!
*Beribboned Buds Cardigan (Anthropologie.com)
Try this cardi with a full mini skirt or even a pencil skirt.
*Stella McCartney Ines Bra and Briefs (Net-a-Porter.com)
I think you guys know what to do with this one (wink wink!).
