Cortnie’s Take On The Boyfriend Trend

C in BF Trend

The boyfriend trend is not something I incorporate into my wardrobe everyday. I love the boyfriend tee (seen in all photos) and the boyfriend cardigan illustrated in photo 3. I managed to grab each of them in at least 6 different colors apiece. Yes, it’s that serious. However, I am not a big fan of the boyfriend jean (at least not on me). As you can see the trend definitely involves oversized clothing. Pieces that are masculine, but are feminine at the same time. So here I am demonstrating how simple the trend is to wear.

In each photo I have on a boyfriend tissue tee from J.Crew, 7 For All Mankind jeans, and Pour La Victoire pumps. The layering piece is the only thing that changes.

SHOES
In photo 1 I added a Cartonnier blazer from Anthropologie and a necklace from Forever 21. I love the grey and the 3-quarter length sleeve of the blazer. Notice how it also covers my butt, making it great for leggings and sky-high pumps or maybe flat boots to dress it down for a more casual look.

In photo 2 I simply just added a Chan Luu scarf. Scarves are a great layering piece and they happen to be another obsession of mine. I can’t get enough of them and probably own over 20.

Lastly, In photo 3 I added a boyfriend cardigan that I got from Martin & Osa. They have the softest cashmere cardigans I have ever felt! They’re so warm and the colors are great. I couldn’t help but to make sure that I had several.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this trend stuck around for a while. So ladies go out and grab some male-inspired clothing and make it your own!

Inspired Outside

With a change in seasons comes a change in life. The year is winding down, the days are shorter and the holidays are right around the corner. Not to mention, it’s become a bit more brisk outside. I was out walking our dogs with my mom when I took these pictures. Fall is my favorite season. So being surrounded by everything that resembles Autumn: heaps of leaves on the ground, a cool breeze, golden yellow, orange and red leaves (what’s left of them) on the trees; I was so excited. It’s beautiful! I know a lot of people are inspired by the things they see outside. For a season that comes and goes every year, you know that change is inevitable. Before it gets too cold, I’ll be taking in this view as much as I possibly can.
