Dotted Stripes

From On March 12, 2010

Ok so I needed something comfy and cute to just throw on and go out in today. I decided on this BCBG Max Azria tank dress, Express tights, Theory cardigan, Urban Outffiters scarf and Modern Vintage boots. Normally I wouldn’t wear something like this, but I loved it once I got it on. I love the mix of the polka dotted tights with the stripes of the cardigan. Not to mention, the block pattern on the scarf. Interesting combo, right?

The Theory cardigan I was absolutely obsessed over. And I mean OBSESSED! I remember seeing it in Nordstrom last year and could not bring myself to buy it. The price tag was too painful to look at, so I walked away from it and saved myself over $200. Maybe over a month later, I went in again and there it was. One left on the sale rack and in my size! I was more than happy to buy it then and it was in perfect condition too. But enough about the cardigan, I’ve got some more running around to do!

In The Thick Of Things

From On March 10, 2010

I happen to live right near a lake, so it’s perfect for photograph-taking. Especially with this 60 degree weather (yay!). I just bought these pumps the other day from ALDO and decided to give them a test run. I’ve been somewhat obsessed with cream or nude colored shoes lately. I wore them with a pair of ankle length Citizens Of Humanity skinny jeans and a Beyond Vintage top from Piperlime. It’s my favorite silhouette; skinny on the bottom, big on the top. The detailing on the top is beautiful. The embroidery and the scalloped edges on the sleeves give it a vintage look. Not to mention, the fabric is extremely light and airy. You can’t see it too well in the photos, but it is a muted pink.

The leather crossbody bag I got a couple years back from Anthropologie.

These peeptoe pumps have a 5 inch heel and sit on a 1.25 inch platform. I must say that they are pretty comfortable. They don’t feel as high as they look. ALDO has some pretty cute shoes coming out this season. Check out the spring collection here.

Trend Alert: Bucket Bags

From On March 7, 2010

Bucket bags are in for spring! High end, low end and everything in between. I can’t decide on which one I want or if I will get one at all. Drawstrings, studs, or fringe; there is so many to choose from. The first is the Alexander Wang Diego bucket bag from The texture of this bag is stunning and the studs give it even more character. It looks great. The second is the Suede Stud Pouch Bag from Topshop. I like the metal disc and tassle detailing. The third is the Goa Drawstring Bag from Banana Republic. Loving the navy, another hot color for spring! The last one is the Charlie My Love Breezy Mini Bag from Shopbop. The tie-dye tassles are so unique. If I had to choose between the four it would definitely be between this one and Alexander Wang’s.

I really wanted to add the new Marc Jacobs bucket bag to the collage, but I haven’t seen it any where other than in magazines. I’ll post a pic on the Facebook Fan Page once I find it on the net.

Black & Putty

BCBG Max Azria top, H&M skirt, Express tights, Prada platforms

I’ve been dying to wear my Prada platforms and the other day I FINALLY wore them! They have to be one of the best birthday gifts I’ve given to myself. It’s not everyday that I wear heels to work, so as a result I had to take advantage of the moment. Afterall, I am on my feet for 8+ hours a day, I’d never make it. I wasn’t sure about the top I was wearing until I belted it with a thin studded belt. It pulled the shirt up just enough so it wouldn’t look like I was swimming in it. As you have probably noticed, I love oversized tops, so I guess either way it would have worked out. The H&M skirt was such a good deal that I ended up buying two in different colors. Skirts are staples in my wardrobe all year around. Especially minis these days. I enjoy bearing my legs. I had really felt like wearing all black but wanted a stand-out shoe. I don’t really invest in bright colored shoes, so I ended up going with the putty-colored Prada’s. I had been talking about them long enough. There was no better time to unveil them.

And a special thanks to Macee for taking the pictures for me 😉

A Fashion Soiree

From On March 2, 2010

This past Sunday I went to the Style List Fashion Soiree/Mannequin Fashion Show at LUX Lounge in Baltimore. It was my first time going, but I must say that it was nice. White couches, tables, great lighting and the dj was great. There was even food available which is always a good thing. Especially if you didn’t get a chance to eat before you left (like myself) or if you plan on being out until early morning (like myself, again). The fashion show, hosted by Teronce Styyles, didn’t start until after 10pm, but when it did it was intriguing.

Collections from Will C Style, 7 Deadly Sins, Quest Collection, Kas Collection Inc., Emore’J Couture, Renee France Designs and Madison Walker were shown. There was a lot of military & uniform-inspired looks. I saw everything from swimwear to couture. I didn’t take too many pictures, but I did manage to get some of the Emore’J Couture collection.

What I wore:
Leather bomber from Nordstrom, J.Crew V-neck top, Gorjana necklace, Forever 21 skirt and floral tights, Jessica Simpson pumps, Rebecca Minkoff studded hobo bag
