Ok everyone, meet Bentley! The newest addition to our family. He is a 10 week old Yorkie that is so much like a small child. He gets into EVERYTHING and is very adorable. He’s just learned or I guess I should say has grown enough to go up and down the steps. So now we are really in trouble. His short attention span is pretty entertaining. I sit and watch him often. He thinks he’s a big dog and tries to keep up with the others we have even though they are about three times his size. You’ll meet them later 🙂 For now, here’s more pics of Bentley.
I can’t believe it’s the last day in February 2010 and thus the last post of the month. Time is flying! I’ve got a lot coming up for March: many more spring trends, photos of me in various places and anything else that sparks my interest. More puppies, perhaps? I guess you will just have to check back and find out for yourselves!
Anyone who knows Antik Batik knows they make some ridiculously beautiful sandals. Last year I purchased their Langoa sandals and they are one of my favorites that I own. I came across this year’s version, the Bongo sandal, and was ecstatic! I automatically knew I’d own them before the warmer seasons rolled around.
The detailing on these leather sandals makes you wonder how much time was spent sewing the gold-toned sequins and beads on by hand. Definitely a great way to update your basic gladiator sandal. The two ankle straps and closed heel make them that much more charming. I guess all this snow surrounding me is causing me to be very excited about spring. I’m loving them and plan on purchasing them for sure!

With Valentine’s Day being less than a week away, I’ve pulled some items, all in the color pink, to help vamp up your V-day attire. While I hope no one will be wearing pink from head-to-toe, try using one of these items as a pop of color to an existing outfit.
*Dress by Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent (Bloomingdales.com)
There are sooo many ways this can be worn. Try it with a black blazer and black tights, a cropped cardi or belted with a boyfriend cardi, a feminine leather bomber and pumps, or just as it is with great sandals.
*Mulberry Alexa Clutch (Shopbop.com)
Definitely wear this with solid colors, no prints! You don’t want to over-do it. You want the clutch to be your stand-out piece.
*Elizabeth & James Mason Pump (Shopbop.com)
These are too cute to be covered up! Pair them with skinny jeans, a skirt or a dress. I would love them with a pair of skinny jeans, a flowy silk printed top and a neutral (cream or maybe white) blazer. Ugh, perfection!
*Tory Burch Reva Croc Ballet Flats (Shopbop.com)
Flats are easy to dress down but still be stylish in. Wear them with a flare-style jean.
*Essie in Bachelorette Bash (Beauty.com)
I’ve just gotten into Essie nail colors. I wore one of the new spring colors, Van D’Go, to Miami when I went. Loved it. I’ve been looking for Mint Candy Apple. Can’t find it anywhere!
*Beribboned Buds Cardigan (Anthropologie.com)
Try this cardi with a full mini skirt or even a pencil skirt.
*Stella McCartney Ines Bra and Briefs (Net-a-Porter.com)
I think you guys know what to do with this one (wink wink!).

Another of my favorite designers and the last I chose to highlight, Rachel Roy, has outdone herself with her collection for Spring ’10. I love the sleekness of this collection. The design of her clothing creates a slimming effect. Yes, the models are already very slim, but they do illustrate how well the clothing compliments the female figure. With strong tailoring and draping heavy throughout, you will find an assortment of pieces from T-shirt to cocktail dresses, and separates, as well. Shades of gray and blacks were the main focus, but bright colors (although none are pictured above) were used too.
I love how she played with color in the shoes and accessories. In the second look, the pink clutch adds a pop of color to the gray suit. It looks great, not to mention, I love gray and pink together. the clothing skims the models’ curves and the skirts and dresses hit at the PERFECT length right below the knee caps.
If you’re as excited as I am about this collection, check out more pieces I didn’t post at:
So I’m back from Miami! I had a great time with my friend, Ashley. We barely slept, but we enjoyed ourselves all too much. It was my first time there and definitely won’t be my last. From the beach and the clubs, to the food and the shopping, Miami has it all. I loved the atmosphere and the energy of South Beach. The following picture was taken my second night there before we went out.
I’m wearing a BCBG Max Azria bandage skirt paired with a silk top from Forever 21, a BCBG max Azria belt and shoes by Jessica Simpson (my faves). I love this look because of the black and white and the huge pop of neon-esque pink. The blousy top paired with a slim mini is a look I go with often for it compliments my hips and small top. I’m all about defining the waistline so the belt does that for me. I also kept it light on the accessories.
My last night there I wore a little black dress. Chic and simple I called it. Form-fitting and short, a great combination for me! I got it from BCBG Max Azria and I believe it’s actually a top, but being only 5 feet tall it worked perfectly as a mini dress. Again, very minimal jewelry. I wanted my dress to be the stand-out piece. The sandals I bought from ALDO a couple years back but remain to be a big part of my warm weather wardrobe.
**Trend Alert: Bright pops of color, mini skirt, long-sleeve mini dress and studded belt
Each of these trends will still be seen throughout spring 2010 collections.
