StyleLust Pages: Pastels Combined

Snapped these shots while in Tampa for a weekend getaway this weekend. Stay tuned for a post on that later. We found this empty parking garage that was perfectly lit by the setting sun before heading to dinner for sushi. The last time I wore this dress was back in March (HERE). The perfect amount of sexy and great with either heels or flats. In this case, with flats even though they were also nude lace-ups.

By the way, I don’t remember where I first saw these lace-up sandals but I stalked them until they went on sale. But they didn’t just go on sale, they went on sale with an additional 40% off! They also come in black…and you’re welcome.

What I Wore: The Line By K dress, Love,Cortnie ‘Pink Milkshake’ Mini Bucket Bag (HERE), Club Monaco sandals (on sale HERE)

Double The Denim

StyleLust Pages: Double The Denim

Lately I’ve noticed that I’ve been stocking up on basics. Unintentionally of course, but they’re really what I wear the most of. Plus they can be worn over and over and over…and over again and in a variety of ways. Like this bodysuit, for example. It would look so nice with a maxi skirt or wide leg pants. Or maybe even some skinny jeans with a leather jacket layered over it when it the temps start to drop.

But since it’s been around 100 degrees, pairing it with denim on denim works just fine too.

What I Wore: Boohoo bodysuit (HERE), Free People shorts (old, alternate HERE), J.Crew flannel (old, similar HERE), Love,Cortnie ‘Denim Roll Down’ Clutch (HERE), Charles Jourdan heels (old)

Belted Midi

StyleLust Pages: Belted Midi

Can I just start by saying that I love everything about this look. Well, other than the shoes (I need the Stuart Weitzman’s in black bad!). But this top and skirt are everything. This top in particular will go so well with anything highwaisted. I was right to get it in 2 colors, but quickly realized how wrong I was for not getting it in the third after actually wearing it. I came home yesterday and made sure to do so. Love, love, love.

Oh…sidenote: There were dozens of wasps flying around the staircases behind me. There were a few times that I had to either run or attempt to swat them away with my bag. Not cool.

What I Wore: Boohoo top (HERE) & skirt (HERE, alternate HERE), Love,Cortnie Dalmatian Mini Bucket Bag (only 1 HERE), Zara heels (old), Kat Von D lipstick in Slayer (HERE)

Have you ever stepped out and realized that you forgot your sunnies? Yup, that was me. It was so bright out and I was trying so hard not to squint and/or look angry. It was tough! Plus I kept laughing at myself because I know I looked crazy. The things we do…

W.U.W: Natural Hair Journey Update

StyleLust Pages: What's Up Wednesday - Natural Hair Journey Update

A couple of weeks ago I decided to switch up my do and try something different. Really different if you know my usual poof. I tried finger coils for the first time! Omg, it took like 3 hours. I don’t see myself doing them again lol. I have also heard people talk about shrinkage and I’ve experienced it to some extent, but this was a whole new level of shrinkage for me. Just…wow! My hair actually reaches passed my shoulders so you could imagine my surprise. It’s still shorter than it was when I first started though. I trimmed off all of my permed ends before I let it get to the length that it was before.

Doing these fingers coils showed me just how tight my natural curls are though. So that was interesting. So now I’m still just moisturizing and continuing to grow my hair out. I can’t wait to grow it out more! I still have to practice stretching my curls out. Which I haven’t quite gotten down yet. Any suggestions on how to do it?
