Last week I was invited to an event taking place during Swim Week here in Miami and I figured why not go. It was actually my very first time driving by myself downtown. Scary stuff, but I made it there and back safely! *pats self on back* It was hosted by Coterie and since I aspire to show my bags there one day I thought it would be a good idea to go and mingle.

It was such a nice set up. Free drinks & hor d’oeuvres served on the rooftop by the pool. Very nice event. Not to mention, I met a lot of great people. Always nice to get out and network. Being in a somewhat new city, I don’t get out half as much as I should. So I’m happy that I went!

P.S. I frickin love this look! It got a lot of love at the event. :) Oh, and yes I’m wearing the same bandeau from my last post. It just worked so well with this skirt! *shrugs*

Leather Mini

Ooooo if you only knew how hot it was taking this pics! The mosquitoes were getting me good. More leather in the Summer. It’s easy when you pair it with a sleeveless bodysuit & strappy sandals. It also helps that this skirt isn’t fitted. More than enough room to breathe.

Also, I have just one left in the Calico Clutch before it’s gone. It won’t be restocked until some time in September. And if you love this bodysuit and plan to purchase, be sure to go up a size at least. The torso is very short. I’m literally just wearing this one as a top and do not have it snapped at the bottom. Fair warning.

StyleLust Pages: What's Up Wednesday - There's Fun In Fitness

If you read my last What’s Up Wednesday post 2 weeks ago (HERE) then you know that hubs and I challenged ourselves not to eat meat for 1 week. Well it has been THREE weeks! It hasn’t even been much of a challenge really. I rarely crave it and I have to be extremely hungry if I do. In 2 weeks I lost 4 pounds and I think a lot of it has to do with not going to my favorite food places to eat, which also means that I cut back tremendously on my rice and beans intake lol. Hubs has lost 5 pounds. So crazy. So now one week has turned into how long we can go without it.

But on top of not eating meat, we’ve been going pretty hard on the fitness aspect of our healthy side. We got bikes that we ride. A couple of times a week we’ll ride around the lake where we live which is almost 8 miles around. It’s no joke. If we aren’t riding we’re at the gym. And since we’ve been feeling extra good lately we might even do both in one day. I feel so trim, y’all! It’s a great feeling and I definitely don’t want that to end any time soon.
