A Chic Combination

I don’t know what it is about this photo that keeps me captivated, but I can’t get enough of it! I tore the page out of the latest Anthroplogie catalog and I now have it taped to my wall. Is it her trendy bob with bangs hairstyle? The crisp white boyfried blazer? The ruffles? The pink, green and white? Or is it a combination of all of the above? I have no intentions of purchasing this outfit, but I love it on the model.

Maybe it’s the unconventional way it’s been put together. I wouldn’t have thought to pair a top with ruffles with a skirt with ruffles. A patterned skirt with ruffles, at that. Normally I try to minimize the use of ruffles. Meaning, if I have a top with ruffles I’ll find a skirt with a simple silhouette, for example. You never want to overdo it. Nonetheless, I love the look and hope you guys do too!

Fall Trends: My Dear Boyfriend

From On November 19, 2009

Menswear-inspired pieces are still going strong for the Fall. Blazers, denim and shoes in styles that are often found on men are being worn by women. Of course, with a more feminine twist, these styles are both flirty and fun. Put these together for one look or mix and match them. The blazer would go well with skinny jeans or even over a dress. The boyfriend jean also goes well with slouchy tees. The oxfords come in a few different styles. Flats are great for everyday, but heels can add a more polished look.
