Let’s face it, dates can be nerve-wrecking. Especially if it’s with someone new. Regardless of the circumstances we always want to look our best. I’m sharing 5 looks with alternative options to help you do just that.

The above look can work for all types of dates. Out to dinner, an evening party…the possibilities are endless. Wide legs are a great option. A top showing off a little cleavage adds a little sexiness to an otherwise covered look. If you’d like something a little less baring, opt for a top that bares your shoulders instead. Top off this look with a statement necklace OR statement earrings & the leopard clutch (Available HERE).

All you need for this look is a midi dress! Easy enough, right? Once you have that part taken care of you can layer on the jacket, or if you choose, not layer on anything at all. Switch up this look with a leather jacket, a blazer or dress it down with a denim jacket. This look would also look great with strappy flat sandals.

This fun and flirty look would be great for a date during the day. A basic tank keeps it simple while this mini leather circle skirt makes the statement. Add the Leopard Clutch for a pop of print & keep the jewelry simple.

Lastly, try a soft look such as this. A lightweight off the shoulder sweater paired with a knit midi skirt. Super comfortable if you’re going to be out for a long period of time. Covered and still sexy with a fitted skirt and a bare shoulder. Nude colored heels or a heel that matches the sweater or skirt works perfectly.

How To Be Trendy At Work

From On September 15, 2010

As fall fashion creeps its way back into stores many of us are starting to transition our wardrobes to prepare for the change of seasons. This includes everything we wear to work. It’s been a while since I’ve had my friend Laurie on the blog, but here she is! This time I photographed her in trends that are great for the workplace. Everything she is wearing is BCBG Max Azria styled with a classic pair of black peep-toe pumps by Nine West.

This short-sleeved jacket is amazing! Just light enough for cool summer nights and straight into fall. Sorry you can’t see the dress that well, but it’s the perfect length! Ladies, this is important! The dress stops just above the knee which is appropriate for work and it does not pass the hemline of the jacket. It also has a 3/4 length sleeve which is nice for the office once the jacket is removed. Pair with a black, gray or camel-colored (the colors in the dress) satchel and you’re ready to go!

This second look is a great example of mixing prints that is subtle enough for the office. I added a thumbnail of a close-up in hopes that everyone can see exactly what she has on. The button-up is white with black pinstripes and the pencil skirt is some kind of black and white dotted/checkered looking print. Now the skirt originally had a black waistband, but I added a waist belt for fun. The buttons stop at the top of her bust, leaving the neckline open just enough without revealing too much. Pair this look with a tote or hobo style handbag in a bright shade for a pop of color.

This has to be my favorite look. The solid black with a touch of leopard print is perfection! Laurie is wearing a black top with a black bandage skirt. The waist belt is ridiculous with its gold detailing. Great combination. The key to pulling off an animal print is not to over-do it and it’s usually best to wear it with solid colors. This look would look great with a black duffle style handbag. Keep it neat and simple when wearing animal prints.

Each of these looks can be worn now. As the weather gets cooler just simply add a pair of tights or nude stockings and you’re ready (and on trend) for work!
