Mix Up

From On January 16, 2012

We had a short warm streak roll through a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice opportunity to get out and take some pics without the chance of freezing to death. This outfit was pretty random for me. Masculine in the sense that I chose boyfriend jeans and a button-up and feminine with the chunky jewelry, printed clutch and heels. My subtle way of print-mixing. It works for me.

What I Wore:
H&M shirt, Joe’s Jeans, Express necklace borrowed from Ashleigh, J.Crew bracelet and ring, Love,Cortnie ‘Genevieve’ clutch (shop it here!), Prada slingbacks

From On January 10, 2012

I briefly mentioned in my last post that I was in Florida this past weekend visiting my sunshine. Easily the best weekend in a while. The weather was perfect and I had a great time. We went to this park and he snapped some pics of me right at the waters edge. You can see downtown Miami across the water. Finally putting those J.Crew shorts I featured a couple of posts back to use. They’re so comfortable. Perfect for a laid back day on the beach. Just me and my sunshine.

What I Wore:
LA Made top, J.Crew shorts, Pelle Moda sandals, Love,Cortnie ‘Double Crossed’ clutch, Super sunglasses

New To My Love,Cortnie Etsy Shop!

From On January 9, 2012

I think this bag may be my new favorite. This past weekend I went to Florida to visit my booski and we checked out this fabric store. I walked by this fabric I don’t know how many times, but I finally noticed it. I knew immediately that I would be buying it. I’m obsessed with black and white printed anything. In this case, it’s not a print but an actual pattern that has texture to it. It’s amazing. I decided to line it with something super bright because of the black and white. Almost any color would have been gorgeous, but the yellow was a no-brainer. The first to come of the Spring 2012 clutches. Shop it here!

Stay tuned for an outfit post from my trip!

Girls Night Out: Blogger Style

From On January 5, 2012

I meant to post this sooner, but I’ve been so busy birthing clutches it’s not even funny. On New Years Eve Eve (yes, the day before New Years Eve), some of the DMV bloggers got together to celebrate the 2011 year. It’s been pretty amazing being in touch and continuously meeting people with the same interests as you. Definitely a wonderful group of ladies. About 15 of us met up at El Centro in DC for drinks and yummy Mexican food. It was so funny getting all the stares from the other people dining there. We were all glammed up and snapping shots of each other. True blogger style. I was so happy I finally got to wear my sequin IRO jacket. Yay! We then made our way over to Velvet which was a few blocks away. Always a good time and I can’t wait for the next outting!

Ashleigh of The Daileigh, Katherine of La Petite Marmoset, Krystin of Krystin Be Loud Be You and Sai of Because I Am Fabulous.

Got to love how Katherine and Krystin rock their Love,Cortnie ‘SparkleShine‘ and ‘Ashleigh‘ clutches!

Check out their shoe game!

New to My Love,Cortnie Etsy Shop & Closet

From On January 4, 2012

The newest bag in my Etsy shop is the ‘Rosey Garden’ Statement Clutch. My sister came up with the name after minutes of brainstorming. This one is also EXTREMELY limited, so if you love it do not wait. Check it out here!

I haven’t done this in forever, but the items below are new to my closet. I can’t get enough of colored denim. The peach colored ones are from Express and the taupe colored jeans are from the Gap. What I’m also obsessed over is this insane buy from J.Crew. At a sale price of $24, these shorts are exactly how I pictured them to be. You’ve heard of boyfriend jeans? Well here is the shorts version of the style. Love them.

Although these Dolce Vita laceup boots aren’t exactly what I was looking for, they’ll have to do for now. I got the silver and black glitter flats from J.Crew (similar here) some weeks ago and surprisingly can’t get enough of them. Especially for someone that hates all things glitter. Lastly, I finally got my little hands on the smoking slippers I had my eyes on since I spotted them in a magazine months ago. Steve Madden’s (on sale here) version in this soft leather and studded toe had me in love at first sight. They’re also available in velvet with studs and leather with gold studs. Plus solid colors too!
