DCFW Networking Event

Last week my sister and I took a trip down to the Dirty Martini bar in DC for DC Fashion Week. I spotted many fashionable folks and even ran into a couple of friends. I thought the networking event was great. Meeting new people is always fun. I just wish I had gotten some shots of myself. I had to collect pictures from other sources to give you guys an idea of my look for the evening.

I wore this amaaazing long and crisp linen blazer I got from Ann Taylor. It was originally $250 and I got it for about $85. A great deal if you ask me. Everything else was BCBG with the exception of my Forever 21 necklace. Adorable right? I completely forgot that I had these leggings. They look like thigh-highs. They’re completely sheer mesh from the top to about mid-thigh and then a thin knit the rest of the way down. How could I abandon these? Accessorized with my Love,Cortnie ‘Ashleigh’ clutch and MAC’s bright-colored lipstick in Morange. Love this look.

THE LAST DAY TO ENTER MY LOVE,CORTNIE CLUTCH GIVEAWAY IS THIS COMING THURSDAY (9/29) AT 10PM EST! THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT MIDNIGHT!

Quick Shot: Hot Pants

From On September 22, 2011

Yesterday I was invited to a Mary Kay Girl’s Night Out event to talk briefly about Fall trends and the must-have items for the season. It was at this new, super plush hotel. So modern and I completely appreciated whomever did the interior designing. The outfit that I chose kind of shocks me. I don’t own much red at all, but I knew I wanted colored pants for the evening. Since J.Crew had let me down and completely sold out of the colored, cropped trousers they had, I went with Plan B. Which was to simply find another pair of colored pants. But it wasn’t so simple. I checked everywhere and as a last resort I went in Express.

As soon as I walked into the store there were these bright red, highwaisted wide-legs pants. I’m not sure why, but I grabbed them immediately. I guess out of desperation for colored pants. Ummm I LOVE them! The fit is perfect and they have just the right amount of stretch to them. Oh, and let’s not forget the perfect length, just sweeping the floor. This season’s hottest color has definitely changed my outlook on the lack of red in my closet.

IF YOU HAVEN’T DONE SO ALREADY, MAKE SURE YOU ENTER MY GIVEAWAY HERE! THE WINNER GETS A LOVE,CORTNIE CLUTCH OF THEIR CHOICE!

What I wore:
Express pants and top, J.Crew belt, Love,Cortnie clutch, Jessica Simpson heels, vintage Anne Klein necklace

Plain & Simple

From On September 8, 2011

This month marks the 2 year anniversary for StyleLust Pages. I can’t believe it has been that long. My posts were kind of boring looking back at them and I did no outfit posts whatsoever. I’m definitely happy to see things progressing. I’ve met some great bloggers and now I’m designing something I’ve been obsessed with for a while. Oversized clutches will always be a favorite of mine.

So here’s a quick outfit post. I’m wearing my $15 pants I got on super sale at J.Crew. I think they go well with my Genevieve clutch (check out my shop here!). Love the lighter shades and the brown together. My mom always told me that my hair had a reddish tint to it under natural light, but I could never see it. Well, I see it here. I’m not sure the exact color of my hair, but it’s my natural color. It has a mind of it’s own and gets lighter in the summertime. So I let it.

What I wore:
H&M tank, Forever 21 sunglasses, J.Crew pants, Gap belt, Love,Cortnie clutch and Diane von Furstenburg wedges, Essie’s nail polish in Blanc
