Leather Up

StyleLust Pages: Leather Up

So I’ve had my eye on this skirt for weeeeks. All I could picture was this buttery soft leather, high-waisted (I sized up), skater skirt that could be worn in many different ways. Well during the 4th of July weekend when everyone decided to have these crazy sales, it went down by about $100. Ummm yes. Mine. It came in black, but where’s the fun in that? Yes, it’s more practical but we can be practical later. This blue was too beautiful to pass up. I’m going to New York for Fashion Week in September. Expect to see this again and somewhat soon!

Oh! And I finally got my hands on some mirrored sunnies and I must say that I love them. I thought they would be the perfect match for my metallic heels.

I’m not even going to mention how I’m even more tan than when I returned from my recent trip from Miami. It’s getting out of control.

What I Wore:
Forever 21 top (similar HERE), ASOS skirt (on sale HERE), Nordstrom sunnies (HERE), KORS Michael Kors heels (SOLD OUT)

Pastel Takeover

StyleLust Pages Pastel Takeover

The last time I wore these mint jeans on my blog was when the Fall season was starting to creep in. Now that Spring has arrived I wanted to pair them with a bit more color and what’s better than a pastel combination?

Oh, and about this bag. I was completely obsessed over it when I first saw it on the J.Crew website. Then I saw it in person on someone in a sorbet orange color which only made me want it more. It sold out online before I had a chance to get it. Then I found one at my local J.Crew store. For $50 (normally $250!!). Someone had returned it. And it was my lucky day.

What I Wore:
Leather jacket from Nordstrom, BCBG Max Azria blouse, J.Crew jeans (similar HERE& HERE) & bag (similar HERE), Jessica Simpson heels

A SpicyCandy Kind Of Brunch

From On March 1, 2012

I hope everyone made their Leap Day count! So many sales were going on too. It was hard to resist. Well this past Sunday I went to a blogger brunch hosted by Spicy Candy DC and One Medical. Mimosas, an omelet bar and yummy fruit could be seen throughout the room. More good times with my fellow DC bloggers. If you want to see more photos from the event check out Spicy Candy DC‘s recap.

I CANNOT get enough of this dress! It’s so versatile (remember it from here and here). It was ridiculously on sale at Anthropologie and I’m SO glad I took a chance and ordered it. This time I wore it with a leather bomber and my Love,Cortnie Fool’s Gold clutch. Thank you to Naseya of The Seventh District for taking these pics for me!

What I Wore:
Anthropologie dress, leather bomber from Nordstrom, Love,Cortnie ‘Fool’s Gold’ clutch, Elizabeth & James ring, Essie’s Mesmorized, MAC lipstick in Chatterbox

P.S. THANK YOU so much to those that congratulated me on my Washingtonian feature!

NewYorkFashionWeek: Look #1

From On February 14, 2012

First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Yes, my birthday is on Valentine’s Day and I’m turning the big 2-8. Wow.

But here’s my first look from my trip to New York for Fashion Week. I went in with the plan that I would pick a standout piece and build my outfit around it. You can probably guess the standout piece in this look lol. I actually have 2 now that I think about it. I’m not really into furs, but when I came across this beauty at It’s Vintage Darling I couldn’t get it off of my mind. The color is gorgeous! I was proud of myself for leaving without it, but then ended up getting it days later. I knew it would be perfect for Fashion Week.

Now the Love,Cortnie clutch, on the other hand, I made specifically for Fashion Week. Metallic silver snake-embossed leather with silver spikes turned up my look. Love it! I didn’t plan on selling it, but if I get any requests for it I may give in. It’s pretty amazing and a bit time-consuming I might add.

Overall, I had a blast in New York. I couldn’t have gone with a better group of ladies. I’ve definitely got more photos to share so stay tuned!

What I Wore:
It’s Vintage Darling vintage fur, leather bomber from Nordstrom, Gap skinnies, Love,Cortnie clutch, Ann Taylor booties, Chan Luu scarf

A Touch Of Velvet

From On February 2, 2012

I’ve had this BCBG Max Azria sweater dress for a while, but I don’t wear it often because I love it and want to keep the pilling to a minimum. I figured it was a good time to break out the dress so I took the pincurls out of my hair, threw on a leather jacket, some simple patterned tights and added the Love,Cortnie ‘Golden Velvet’ clutch. I love how black leather makes things a bit more dramatic.

On another note, I recently found out that the fabric for this bag is no longer available, so what I have left is it! Shop it here for there’s only 2 left!

What I Wore:
BCBG Max Azria dress, leather jacket from Nordstrom, Express tights, Love,Cortnie ‘Golden Velvet’ clutch, Vince Camuto booties

P.S. I’m still on vaca in FL, but stay tuned for pics in next weeks posts 🙂
