No Shade

StyleLust Pages: No Shade

Happy Monday all! Check out my tan! These are some of the first photos I’ve taken since getting back from my trip to Miami and boy did I get dark! So when I say no shade, what I mean is I spent a bit of time in the sun (while I was there). It also seems that I’ve brought back the warm temps with me. So a tank and flirty skirt was very necessary.

What I Wore:
J.Crew tank (sold out, navy on sale HERE), H&M skirt (similar HERE or HERE), Pour La Victoire heels (not really similar HERE)

Shades Of Gray

From On January 31, 2013

StyleLust Pages Shades Of Gray

I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve worn this sweater! I was so in love with it when I first saw it. It was so unique the way it fit. And of course I loved the slouchy-ness of it. The last time I wore it on my blog was toward the end of 2011 (LITTLE HEARTS). Way too long ago. Those were some of my favorite pics I’ve taken. But I must say that I’m really loving these too. The different shades of gray I felt was the perfect canvas for my new beauty. This vintage necklace from Atlantis Dry Goods. The best part? The bells really make noise!

What I Wore:
BCBG Max Azria sweater & leggings, vintage necklace from Atlantis Dry Goods, Pour La Victoire heels

Ruffle Fling

From On March 25, 2010

I definitely went out and took advantage of the nice weather on this day. Cloudy skies and warm temperatures are good in my book. It’s been a while since my friend Kenny took some shots of me. So as you might have guessed, I got dressed and we headed down to the lake. The natural setting never gets old and it will only become more beautiful once the flowers start to bloom.

I love this look. It’s really fiesta-like with the ruffles, the colors, and the earrings. I wore a shirt from the Gap and the skirt is from Urban Outfitters. Isn’t it adorable? I couldn’t pass it up. The orange studded belt is also from the Gap, while the cream studded belt is from The Levi’s Store. I have an obsession with belts, but it’s weird because I barely wear them. The shoes are by Pour la Victoire, one of my favorite shoes brands.

The pictures turned out really well. Thank you so much to Kenny! Check out more of his photography here!

Cortnie’s Take On The Boyfriend Trend

From On November 25, 2009

C in BF Trend

The boyfriend trend is not something I incorporate into my wardrobe everyday. I love the boyfriend tee (seen in all photos) and the boyfriend cardigan illustrated in photo 3. I managed to grab each of them in at least 6 different colors apiece. Yes, it’s that serious. However, I am not a big fan of the boyfriend jean (at least not on me). As you can see the trend definitely involves oversized clothing. Pieces that are masculine, but are feminine at the same time. So here I am demonstrating how simple the trend is to wear.

In each photo I have on a boyfriend tissue tee from J.Crew, 7 For All Mankind jeans, and Pour La Victoire pumps. The layering piece is the only thing that changes.

SHOES
In photo 1 I added a Cartonnier blazer from Anthropologie and a necklace from Forever 21. I love the grey and the 3-quarter length sleeve of the blazer. Notice how it also covers my butt, making it great for leggings and sky-high pumps or maybe flat boots to dress it down for a more casual look.

In photo 2 I simply just added a Chan Luu scarf. Scarves are a great layering piece and they happen to be another obsession of mine. I can’t get enough of them and probably own over 20.

Lastly, In photo 3 I added a boyfriend cardigan that I got from Martin & Osa. They have the softest cashmere cardigans I have ever felt! They’re so warm and the colors are great. I couldn’t help but to make sure that I had several.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this trend stuck around for a while. So ladies go out and grab some male-inspired clothing and make it your own!
