Sunshine After The Rain

From On October 4, 2011

It got cold out of no where! Fall is definitely here. It is my favorite season because of how gorgeous the changing leaves on the trees are, but the crisp air just seemed so sudden and unexpected. You may remember this Anthropologie dress from a couple of months ago (Miami’s A Beach). So summery and airy. I threw a cashmere oversized sweater and chunky boots on with it to get a look more suitable for cooler temps.

The Vera Wang Lavender Label boots I got from Piperlime. They were so high and combat-like which made it interesting. But how about my necklace?? A once alive beetle cast in bronze. I love it! You can see more beetle necklaces at

What I wore:
Anthropologie dress (by Lil) & bag (by Tano), BCBG Max Azria sweater, Vera Wang Lavender Label boots, Forever 21 glasses, Atlantis Dry Goods beetle necklace

Self Reflection

From On March 7, 2011

It all started with this coat. I saw it in Macy’s (I.N.C.) one day and thought it was hideous. After days of thinking about it, my thoughts of it began to change. I went from hating it to kind of loving it. The volume on this thing was so over-the-top. It looks like the actual wool from a sheep (an entire sheep, at that), but it’s definitely faux fur. The shawl collar really makes the difference too. Imagine if it had a mandarin collar or was collarless. Wouldn’t be the same. I thought it would be so cute for a blog post paired with a mini skirt. So here we are!

I decided I would pull out my Michael Kors boots that havent seen daylight since college. That was at least four or five years ago. They’re pretty amazing and it’s funny how trends move in circles. Shearling detailing, studs around the bottom, a wooden platform, a mix of leather and suede AND they resemble clogs. But enough about the boots. The mini skirt is from H&M and I wore it with a basic black tee. The tights are from BCBG Max Azria. Love the black line going down the back of them. Unexpected and sexy. The knee socks and the leather Tano bag are both from Anthropologie. For a pop of instant color, I’m wearing Essie’s Punchy Pink nail polish.

Thank you to my sister, Ashleigh, for taking these photos for me!
