Violet Boutique Lookbook Launch Party

From On June 28, 2012

Sorry for the late post, but last week I attended the Violet Boutique Summer Lookbook Launch Party in DC. Had a great time as usual mingling with fashionable people, yummy finger food and fruity drinks. I also dropped off a few clutches that will be carried there (see the photo on Facebook). The ‘Dip-Dyed’ clutch sold immediately! But this photo of me was taken by the wonderful Marshall from The President Wears Prada. You can find more snapshots from the night HERE.

Now this dress was something I had been talking about since the moment I got it. If you follow me on twitter than you know what I mean. I told you I was going to try to get into thrifting more and so I did. I found this mid-calf length vintage dress while out thrifting not even 2 weeks ago. Shoulder pads and everything. I stared at it for a while and realized that it definitely had to be shortened. Had it dry-cleaned and then did exactly that. Dressed it up with some of my mom’s old gold jewelry to complete my little vintage look and added a touch of animal print with the ‘Cool Cat’ clutch.

Oh! And you can view some snapshots of the party on my Facebook page HERE!

What I Wore:
Thrifted dress, Love,Cortnie ‘Cool Cat’ clutch (HERE), ALDO heels, Mom’s jewelry

A Lookbook Party at Violet Boutique

From On December 9, 2011

Last night was such a good time. I love getting dressed up and hanging out with fashionable people. I also got to put some faces to some blogs I visit frequently, as well as, meet some new ones. The Lookbook party was held at Violet Boutique in DC. It was such a cute store, full of adorable clothes and accessories. I finally got to wear my BCBG Max Azria dress too! I’ve only had it for about two years lol. It was originally knee-length, but I got it shortened. So glad that I did.

Ms.Katherine of La Petite Marmoset herself. The party was really to celebrate the launch of her new lookbook. Check out her vintage pieces in her Etsy shop. Did you notice that she is also wearing her ‘SparkleShine’ Love,Cortnie clutch? Shop it here!

Some pieces from her collection. The knit skirts were my favorite.

How cute are her booties? Absolutely adorable.

Carlis from Spicy Candy DC and my sister Ashleigh from The Daileigh.

Waverly from Pich & Roor and Lacey from A Lacey Perspective. Lacey’s La Petite Marmoset vintage beaded skirt was ridiculous. I couldn’t stop staring at it!

Rocking my black and white striped BCBG Max Azria dress with my ‘Glittering Gold’ Love,Cortnie clutch. Shop it here!

Spicy Candy DC‘s other half, Katya, and Naseya from The Seventh District. A lot of adorable leopard prints were in the room.

Lauren in a La Petite Marmoset vintage fur that she looked amazing in. In went home with her.

I spotted one of my Love,Cortnie ‘Ashleigh’ clutches under the arm of the lovely Keri from A Diva State of Mind. Shop it here!

Some stylish ladies that were in attendance, along with Naseya.

Denisio from The Ravenous Creator. Her skirt was pretty amazing.

Vivi from Heart,Print & Style, Jenni from Comme Coco and myself.
