StyleLust Pages Pattern Play

Trying out some black & white pattern mixing with a pop of color. I’ve never really been into mixing prints, but I’ve always loved black and white. So why not marry the two and make it work for me? And now that I’ve rediscovered these shoes in my closet, you’ll be seeing them a bit often this Spring.

What I Wore:
Zara jacket (similar HERE), J.Crew tee (HERE), Forever 21 skirt (similar HERE & HERE), BCBG Max Azria belt (similar HERE), Aldo heels (similar HERE)

Happy In Houndstooth

StyleLust Pages Happy In Houndstooth

My love for slightly aged pieces is growing and quickly. I love taking something old and making it feel new again by wearing it with modern or trendy pieces. These houndstooth leggings? Well they’re my mom’s and if I could guess they’re from the 80’s based on the fact that they have stirrups (remember those?!). You already know that I’m a fanatic for gray and black so the print together was a yes. Paired them with more gray and black and layered on the brightest blazer I own. And how are you liking my clutch? You know I’m in love with it. Check it out in my ETSY SHOP!

What I Wore:
Zara blazer, Banana Republic men’s sweater, Mom’s leggings, Love,Cortnie ‘Flipside’ leather clutch (HERE), Aldo heels

Heavily Anticipated

From On September 20, 2012

I remember when Zara first debuted this jacket. It was on so many blogs. The first time I saw it, I gasped. The color, the style, the fit. I loved it and wanted it. Badly. I don’t live too close (or too far) from an actual Zara location, so eventually it slipped my mind. How? I’m not sure. But a couple of months ago while I was in Miami I saw it. It was on sale and my size was available. Score.

The shorts, however, are personally like my artwork lol. I found these vintage Levi’s on a thrifting trip. It almost felt wrong to cut them up, but I love how they turned out. Pulled my destructed shorts and my neon tweed jacket together with my Love,Cortnie ‘Bad-Ass’ spiked leather clutch and my aztec-heeled sandals. Loving the combination.

What I Wore:
Zara blazer, thrifted Levi’s, Love,Cortnie ‘Bad-Ass’ leather clutch (HERE), Forever 21 sunnies, BCBG Max Azria heels (HERE)

This billowy silk top was one of my first purchases from Zara a few years ago. I love how I have the option to wear it on or off of my shoulders. Paired it with my favorite cut-offs, comfy wedges and the ‘Snake-Embossed’ clutch. Check it out in my Etsy shop (HERE)! I only have one available!

Tribe Vibe

From On June 10, 2011

So here we are! This is what I wore to Chevy Chase when I came across the beautiful belt from Anthropologie in my last post. Completely tribal-inspired and not realizing it until I was almost completely dressed. I finally brought out these amazing sandals by KAJU by A.G. Giraudon. I got them from Anthropologie years ago. I just love the little baubles on the top of the metallic chocolate leather. How adorable are they? The pants are a more recent purchase from Anthropologie. By Daughters of the Revolution, they are extremely comfortable and have the perfect amount of stretch to them. Not to mention, they are now on sale.

The lightweight linen shirt is from Zara. I have to wear a white tank under it because of how sheer it is. I wore two necklaces together over top of it. I got them from Express before they turned super trendy. Which means I’ve had them for a very long time! It was my first time wearing my cuff from BCBG Max Azria. I’m not big on bangles even though I love them and own quite a few of them. I think this is a decent start to wearing them more often.

Now the bag on the other hand, I can’t get enough of. I didn’t even think to wear it at first. But when I opened my drawer full of clutches I knew right away when I saw it. Do you remember on Mary Poppin’s how she had that huge tapestry bag where she could reach in and pull anything out of it? Well this bag reminds me of it (minus the pulling anything out of it). I got it from For Love maybe 2 years ago¬†and was sold when I saw the woven tribal pattern and the wooden detailing. So gorgeous. Plus it’s big enough to fit a wallet, bottled water and any other crap I feel I need at the time.

Sorry again for the washed out pictures! I really need to spend some time checking out the settings on my camera.
